But what about all the other mixes? The old school cocktails, the rum and cokes of old.

At Mar Calma Hotel we are lucky to have our very own cocktail bar - Bar Ona, and resident mixologist - that's a cocktail maker and shaker to the uninitiated, and though we do serve a mean G&T and run gin tonic afterwork happy hours, we haven't forgotten all the other great cocktail classics. Here is our full cocktail menu, with a few tips on how to mix your own at home.


MOJITOS - The Perfect Summer Cocktails


The Classic Mojito

The Cuban classic is a fresh and feel-good summer drink, trumped only by the ever popular G&T.


Five ingredients: white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water and mint, it has been made for the tropics and goes down beautifully in Mallorca!



The Asian Mojito

A tangy variation on the classic Cuban drink, perfectly refreshing on a hot Summer's evening by the sea.


Add chopped asian pears, basil leaves, lemon juice and honey. Fill halfway with ice cubes and stir in pear vodka. Top up with ginger ale, stir well and garnish with basil.

Bloody Mary

The ultimate vodka-soaked hangover cure, or the naughty version of a British breakfast - let's face it: holiday brunch just wouldn't be the same without a Bloody Mary.


Vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauces, garlic, herbs, horseradish, celery, olives, salt, black pepper, lemon juice, lime juice and/or celery salt.



Tom Collins

Essentially a gin-spiked lemonade, the Tom Collins is a classic highball and one of the most enduring cocktails.


Add freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar and Bombay Sapphire and stir. Add plenty of cubed ice and stir again. Top with soda water and stir for a final time and now garnish with a lemon wedge.



Sex on the Beach

The fruity cocktail with the fruity name, Sex on the Beach is an easy-going, fun and tarty holiday cocktail, introduced along with Peach Schnapps in the late 80s. And watch out, because it tastes alot weaker than it really is.


Ingredients: Vodka, peach schnapps, grapefruit juice, cranberry juice and a spoonful of lemon juice.

Not as simple as it sounds, the Caipiroska, is as it's Russian name suggests a Caipirinha with vodka, and the devil is in the details; getting the amount of lime and sugar right is essential to creating this Summer special.

The original rum cocktail, extremely simple to make and one everyone should know. During its 130 years of life, the Daiquiri has suffered numerous transformations and fallen in and out of favour, but it still stands firm as one of the most refreshing alcoholic mixes around.


Just 3 ingredients: White rum, sugar and lime.




Dry Martini

Sophisticated and insanely simple, there is nothing ordinary about a dry martini, it is after all the king of all cocktails. It was inmortalised of course by James Bond - "shaken not stirred", and has remained a delightful and rather glamorous drink.


Dry London gin and vermouth, garnished with an olive or lemon slice.






June & Tonic

A slight variation on the classic G&T, the June tonic is made with premium craft gin, just that bit fresher, more elegant and sassy than the classic gin and tonic, if that's possible.


Moody June gin, tonic water and garnish.






Palo Tonic

Palo is a local aromatic aniseed liqueur from the Balearic Islands, made from the bark of the Quina tree and has been in existence since mid 19th century! Palo comes dry or sweet and is wonderful served cold, on the rocks or as this cocktail version, with tonic water.


Palo herbal liqueur and tonic water poured over ice.

Sweet, sour and sexy, the Cosmo was immortalised by Carrie in Sex and the City and is now forever reminiscent of girls in New York. 


Ingredientes: vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, and freshly squeezed or sweetened lime juice.





Tequila Sunrise

The Tequila Sunrise, named after the gradient colours of the orange and grenadine, has been around since the 1930's, but it wasn't until the 70's when the Rolling Stones gave it rock star status, and then The Eagles dedicated a song to it.


Made with tequila, orange juice, and grenadine syrup and served unmixed in a tall glass.





Piña Colada

A rich, tropical blend with a tangy twist, hailing from 1930's Puerto Rico, everything about the Piña colada spells summertime, sunshine and beaches. 


The perfect combination of rum, coconut cream and pineapples, served blended or shaken with ice.

Though the jury is still out officially, the Margarita screams Mexico all over. It is fresh and tangy, perfect of those all too hot summer evenings.


With tequila, triple sec liqueur and fresh lime. If you're making your own: chill the glass first, mix ingredients and ice, shake and pour. Add lime and salt to the rim for an extra zang.

The perfect fruity Summer beverage and the most popular Spanish mix, Sangria is basically a wine punch, created originally as a refreshing way of camouflaging the awful table wine with fruit juices and garnish.


Red table wine, fruit (oranges, lemon, apples, peaches), cinnamon stick, sugar and fizzy soda.




Pomada Frappé

When the British owned Menorca for a spell, back in the 18th century, the locals were inspired to make their own gin; a dry and high alcohol version with the aroma and taste of Juniper berries


The Menorcan G&T is made from Xoriguer gin, lemonade and crushed ice - thirst quenching and delicious.



MOCKTAILS - Non-alcoholic Cocktails


Mock coctails, for those who don't know, are the alcohol-free alternative, perfect if you are the designated driver of the group, pregnant, dieting, or just not into drinking alcohol. We offer two delicious drinks that feel and taste like a cocktail but are healthy too!


San Francisco

A sophisticated American special, the San Francisco is the ideal thirst-quenching holiday aperitif.


Mix equal parts orange juice, limmy lemon juice, pineapple juice, grapefruit juice, grenadine and soda, pour over ice and shake!




Piña Colada

Exactly like the original Piña Colada, minus the rum, this one is just as tasty and good for any time of day. 


Ingredients: Frozen pineapple, coconut milk, cocnut water and coconut cream, pineapple juice and freshly squeezed lime juice for extra bite.
